Hello May and Happy Derby Weekend!!
For those of you who don’t live in Kentucky or don’t follow horse racing – Derby Weekend is a big deal! The past month we have had weeks of parties and events leading up to the most exciting two minutes of sports. It’s like you roll the Super Bowl, Fashion Week, a Bachelor Party, and Top Chef into one, then blend with bourbon and garnish with some mint. It’s so much fun!
To top off the fact that it is Derby Weekend, it is also time for First Friday Favorites here at Living & Loving. Woohoo!!!
I’m working hard to get into a routine of blogging and organizing my life, so you will be getting more than some First Friday Favorites posts in the near future, but for now, check out some of the things I’m digging this month.
May Friday Favs
This month I have 4 things to share with you.
1 – Lilly B Organic Burritos
I’m not usually a fan of frozen food that you microwave to eat, but I was at Costco recently and found these burritos and decided to give them a try since they were on sale.
I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious they were (not homemade burrito level, but you can’t ask that from something frozen) and they will be on my Costco list again in the future.
2 – Sweet & Creamy Almond Creamer
I LOVE this creamer and I’m not a huge creamer fan in general. I tend to drink my hot coffee black, but once the weather starts to heat up, I love some iced cold brew with a splash of creamer. And this creamer is my go to!
This creamer is the perfect amount of creamy with a little sweetness. I don’t like overly sweet coffee, unless it’s a day I’m in the mood for a very specialty coffee drink, but these days those days are few and far between. It’s not super easy to find – I can usually only find it at Target here, but I have heard that Walmart also carries it, so I may have to go check them out to see.
3 – Cold Brew Coffee
I love a good iced coffee/cold brew, but usually never make it myself. I’ve always bought iced coffee jugs, but this year, I’ve ventured out into making my own cold brew. I grabbed some coffee at Bargain Hunt recently and this week I popped the grounds in a pitcher of filtered water, let it sit over night before straining and voila! Cold Brew! It’s delicious and goes great with my Sweet and Creamy Creamer!
4 – Bluegrass Barkery
This local business has always been one of my favorites, but since I got a puppy recently (more on that in a future post) I have been visiting them a whole lot more. They have an amazing selection of dog treats, toys, and dog foods! If you are in the market for some dog treats and other items in the Lexington area – I’d highly recommend checking out the Barkery!
That concludes my May First Friday Favorites! I’d love to hear if you also love any of these items or if you are going to give any of them a try. And I’d love to know what you are loving right now!! Is there anything I need to be trying? I’d love to hear from y’all!!
Live & Love,
